Hey guys, I started my game development journey a while ago and wanted to share two of the games I’ve created. The “Elevator Line” game is something I made recently after noticing that “line games” are trending. You can check them out here:
If you take a look at these games, you’ll see that I’m not an expert builder—I’m more of a coder with some UI skills (though not much). My main question today is how to attract more players.
I’ve been developing games for about six years now, starting with very simple ones that anyone could make. Despite improving my skills significantly, I still struggle to figure out how to get and retain players.
For example, my “Pick a Bridge” game has around 3,700 visits, but that’s mostly due to about $17 worth of sponsors. I was considering sponsoring my games again, but my past experiences haven’t been great. I got a lot of players when I sponsored my game, but they all left after about a max of 1.5 hours, and now, with no recent updates, I’m getting zero visits per day. It’s frustrating.
Do you have any ideas for me? Are my games really that bad? I don’t think they are, especially since similar games have thousands of concurrent players. I’d appreciate any advice on how to grow my player base.
