I’m currently developing a really large game with a big map and it’s difficult to build + program while struggling with 20 fps at 16 graphics level.
I used to be able to get a solid 30-40 fps at 16 graphics level however as the game map has grown it has gotten worse.
If anyone knows how I can improve my performance without the expense of lowering my graphics level because my game requires a graphics level of at least 14 or 16 to have good lighting, it would help a lot.
Maybe you could Anchor anything that doesn’t move, use StreamingEnabled to only load nearby chunks, use simpler meshes for distant objects, reduce extra shadows and lights, and optimize scripts so they aren’t running heavy loops every frame. There may be other methods that i may not know off after all these methods may not work as i havent personally tried them yet. Hope this helps!
maybe try turning off unnecessary plugins, disabling real-time lighting previews, closing extra editor windows, using LocalServer test mode instead of Play Solo for large maps, hiding or collapsing parts of the map you’re not working on, and keeping only essential scripts running.
