How do I revert to the old UI now?

How do I now revert to the old, better UI? There is so much wrong with this new UI, it’s dark colours are distracting, serious lack of contrast between lots of buttons, too much empty space, don’t take away the old, perfect UI away from us. I used to be able to revert to the old UI in beta features, but it’s gone from there, I’m freaking out, this new UI is horribly distracting and unintuitive.

Please help.

I doubt they’d allow that.

I’m having the same problem.
I can’t remove the distracting top-bar, and it’s kinda setting me off…
I NEED THE ARROW BACK! -_-

This new UI just isn’t great.

It completely messes with people’s muscle memory especially those who’ve used the old UI for many years up to this point.

From what I am currently able to tell for myself workflow won’t be very fluid on this New UI, some buttons are just out of the way, really no physical Undo button? Why are the CSG icons all the way to the right of the screen opposed to the center, it’s the modeling tab after all.

There’s also not enough contrast going on, it’s just dark.
Some of the icons are tiny to see and somewhat difficult read, longer names are truncated, not ideal.
Why is there so much dead space on this UI? Not saying it should be all crammed but not ideal for a smooth workflow.

The pop-ups that appear while hovering over the Icons take pretty long to disappear, which is an issue considering quickly switching Tabs makes them stuck, [see attached image]

.

Let us have the option between the Legacy and New UI, we are tired having these updates thrown at us out of the blue with no prior warning, some of these updates are released without much testing and is pretty evident by this new UI, Feedback that was received for this New UI doesn’t appear to have been taken.

Not everyone will find this new UI to be suitable for their needs like myself, and not everyone found the Legacy UI suitable for their needs. Everyone has their own needs.

there was a pretty big warning in the form of an announcement and a beta feature, but i agree they didn’t test this much, didn’t take feedback, and it severely trashes my muscle memory

Hey! Can’t we just use Roblox Studio Mod Manager?

honestly if they even took any molecule of feedback they would’ve never released this mistake of an update at all

What are you on about?

Next Gen Studio UI Preview is here! [Beta] - Updates / Announcements - Developer Forum | Roblox

The new UI has been in beta since July 2024 so about a year and 2 months roughly so it’s not like they’ve just sprung it on you. Unless you’ve strictly avoided the Updates > Announcements field for the last year you’ve seen the post at least once.

A lot of people complained about spacing, colors, and other bugs/issues they’ve had and they fixed a large majority of those issues while still implementing new things.

The only issue I see with the new studio UI is the amount of people who are hating on it but keep posting their comments in the wrong spot. While yes the team working on it will (probably) find this post and review the comments if you want your comments or suggestions to be heard lets start normalizing put it in the actual announcement post.

I’ve never understood why when roblox releases a new feature in Updates > Announcements rather than people sharing their feedback within THAT topic peoples first idea is "I should definitely create a 2nd thread about this post that just released even though the original just opened up 10 minutes ago. Like why? Just post your comments or feedback in the original.

It’s the same thing with this new Studio UI you get the new UI today cause they increased the rollout % and instead of asking about it in the thread resolving around that particular feature you decide to throw a fit about it in Development Discussion.

Why are so many people freaking out about this today…

Once you get used to it, it’s arguably better than the old UI.

At least make it so you don’t sound like an old person complaining about “new technology”.

ooh I love when people use phrases like this. Please argue, what do you consider better?

Ok, I really should be doing homework right now but sure…

(This is all in my opinion)

  1. Better UI icons
  2. Less cluttered tabs
  3. Custom tabs
  4. Labels disabling option
  5. Easier to navigate menu

  • Better performance
  • Improved level of customization within studio (with plans for further customization soon)
  • imo just looks better

UI icons make no sense, how is this ‘character’ for example?!?

Any improvements to ‘ease-of-navigation’ is undermined by people’s muscle memory acting up because they’re used to being really fast at using the old UI layout.

Darker colours result in strange contrast & distraction in the code editor, making text more unreadable.

Many bugs / things that need work making the UI not suitable for full, forced roll-out, like these errors I got randomly just now just from using the new UI.

I encourage you to dig into the customization features. Lots of options via right click in the top bar and tabs. For Script Editor, you can fully tune the colors to your preference.

It will take a little time to customize things to your personal preference, but it is worth it.

I still have the old UI, umm

Maybe it’s because my studio didn’t auto update for some reason?

I actually love the new ui, because i think it looks better! And i can have custom tabs with anything in them! Look at my trusty Essentials tab:

But, you just gotta get used to it. Same thing happened with me, i turned the beta feature on a while ago and i instantly turned it off because i was like “Bruh wheres undo and redo and theres more stuff missing” But now i really like it
