This new studio UI update is interesting, but I consider it ugly for the sole fact that it ignores 7 years of muscle memory.
How do I turn it off if there isn’t an option to in the Betas?
There is an option in the Betas. Go into the Betas then switch off Next Gen Explorer
and Next Gen Studio Preview
. Had to do this today.
Normally I’d say what’s been done by others can not be undone but this is a beta feature. disable it in the tab.
Turning off the beta feature should work. It would be weird if it wasn’t there.
We are all used to the old UI, and many prefer it. Unfortunately, our solution will not work near the end of this year, if not sooner.
Just get with the times. It will be enforced later on and you’re missing out on the new features.
I’d recommend getting used to it as soon as you can, as it will at some point be forced upon everyone. I quite prefer the new UI compared to the old one. We’ve had the same UI for a decade, it needs to be updated.
This type of mentality won’t help you get used to the new studio design either. Whether anyone likes it or not, it will become the standard for Studios within the next year.
Times are changing, things need upgrading and Roblox Studios is long overdue for one.
I agree with you. I do like the new UI a lot more and offers way more customization then the Old ui.
And This is true 100%. Having a mentality of “I prefer old one and I won’t adapt the new change” will not help. Its not even Roblox, its Outside of Roblox that are changing. Even Technology is constantly evolving and sticking to the old one, will not do in the long run.
Everyone is new at some point. Everyone starts developing at different times. The people growing up to aspire making games will be grown on the new UI. Just make yourself be able to adapt as you were born to do so, it’s a simple UI to adjust to, don’t be lazy.
Right, wasn’t there at first.
Thanks
God the new design is atrocious, what on Earth are they thinking? Scrap that project before it’s too late.
breaking: roblox users are once again being allergic to any form of change
things cant stay the way they are forever and the old UI was atrocious and i’m glad its being removed
Having the same UI for a decade does not mean it needs to be downgraded to this garbage, it means it should be left alone because it works.
how can you possibly prefer the new UI??
new features my a–
It’s just big and bulky now, and like everything else in the internet, rounded.
It wastes so much of top screen space.
Honestly I wouldn’t really mind it if ROBLOX kept using QT instead of buggy ahh Luau, the new explorer is so inefficient it’s funny.
I totally agree with this, I came to this thread because I was trying to find the game settings button.

Having the same UI for a decade
When you use the same tools constantly, people will surpass you… whether this is by being faster, using better tactics, simply being smarter, or using upgraded platforms. Using the same thing, without any form of improvements… such as the Roblox Studio UI hinders Developers and the future of Roblox as a whole. I’m not saying the new UI is great in itself, I’m saying the new UI is better than the previous versions of Roblox Studio. I’ve been here long enough to see the very first Studio… I can, without a doubt, say that upgrading the Roblox Studio has been needed since 2018.

it needs to be downgraded to this garbage
Whether it is an upgrade, or downgrade, is subjective to the person using the software.

it means it should be left alone because it works.
This idea of “if it isn’t broken, don’t change it” is what keeps people stuck in a void deprived of improvement. Take the state of the world currently, everything still works as it is; does that mean we stop improving the lives of others? Rhetorical question; the answer is no. You must strive to improve, even if something works. That’s how you improve the lifespan, and quality of something.

how can you possibly prefer the new UI??
I prefer the new UI because it’s giving us the ability to have custom tabs, has a modern feel, and is slowly working to improve things that have been broken for years. With this; it also has it’s learning curves, and will challenge me to learn. I get to search for bugs, and help improve what will eventually be the modern staple of Roblox.
Comfortability is the death of progress, and growth

What was broken in the old UI?
- There were times that Roblox Studio would refuse to open, no matter if you did a fresh reinstall of the program,
- When attempting to run the game locally, code would not run at all,
- Auto-Recovery Files, and Save Files fully corrupting and being unable to recover due to said corruption. I’ve experienced this on multiple occassions,
These are just some I’ve experienced, I can’t speak for others who’ve had issues with it. I’ve been a strong advicator for a rework of Studio since 2017, as custom tabs make them efficient to use. Alongside a design rework… I’ll admit that the current Explorer is buggy, and slow… however that’s the only issue i’ve seen so far. Will there be more bugs? Yeah, absolutely… that’s the fun of it updating. Hopefully, we’ll get the ability to customize the entire studio design to what we like.
Never experienced any of those issues and I’ve been using roblox studio for years.
