Hello, as far as I know, we can’t upload copyrighted songs on Roblox. So how do popular games that use copyrighted music manage to include them? For example, games like Better Song and Better Anime type games.
Thanks!

Easy. Upload audios extremely slowed down/sped up to get around the content match, and adjust the speed back to normal in studio.
Or even just upload the audios completely unedited, a lot of the time audios will just…work first try, no content ID issues.
roblox uses some kind of an auto-copyright-detection whenever you upload an audio to roblox, and if they think that this audio is copyrighted, it will be automatically ineligible to use, with this note in the description:
“Removed for violations of Roblox Terms of Use”
however, anyone can easily bypass this system by editing the audio, like speeding it up, re-pitching it, etc
and you don’t have to significantly edit it to get it past moderation, simple edits like 1.03x speed should do the trick
so these developers probably did that to get the audio past roblox moderation, and then they re-edited it inside studio to make it look like the original one.
this bypass works most of the time because it’s just a bot doing the job, not an actual human
now, when they get these audios past moderation, and use it in their games, they’ll be fine… UNTIL the story reaches the actual audio owner, who will then file a DMCA takedown request against the developers, which will result in the developers either getting banned or terminated
or the developers probably got permission from the actual audio owner in the first place, and that could be why their games hasnt gotten taken down up till now
I understand what you said, but what happens if someone reports me in-game?
Okay, I get it. But what exactly happens if someone reports me in-game?
what do you mean exactly?
What happens if someone reports the music I uploaded?
i think nothing would happen, as long as you got the music past moderation by editing it (e.g speeding it up or re-pitching it)
because 99% of the reports are viewed by the same bots who let you upload the audio in the first place
but i’m not 100% sure
