I use ProfileService.
Literally almost all big games on Roblox use this open-source module. It’s one of the best data store solutions on the platform: easy to manage, well structured, and really simple to use.
On top of ProfileService, I use another module I made to handle the whole ProfileService workflow.
This makes it way easier to work with player profiles, get data, and keep everything organized.
For data storing, I only expose non-critical data to the client, using Player attributes or subfolders that need to be updated often.
For example, a Level value stored as an attribute (or inside a folder) lets the client stay in sync without constantly requesting data from the server.
All important or sensitive data stays only on the server, inside the main data table.
I only replicate simple values that don’t affect game integrity. Anything important is never exposed, since it could be exploited and break the game.
