How do you make a GuiObject exceptional to an UIListLayout?

I am trying to make a GuiObject that is exceptional to the UIListLayout rule. The Gui is basically a pointer for the list, similar to this:

I know you could place the Gui in a folder but it doesn’t feel right and I would like to know if there are any other better methods.

So what I tend to do is stick the item in a frame one hierarchy below the UI, I tend to put the UIListLayout in frames, let me illustrate:

Frame1 Frame2
UIListLayout Pointer

this keeps it organized, and since you want the pointer to freely move in and out of the various things it doesn’t interfere.

That’s sound like a good idea, I will definitively try that. Thanks
