How does my first terrain creation look? (be honest)

I started working on this a little while ago, and how does it look? (the trees are not mine)

What can I do to improve?
Is it bad?

Thank you for your time.

If the look you are going for is realism, I suggest messing with the color and transparency of the water, but other than that it looks pretty good.

pretty ok, but not very realistic. your terrain design is nice, but they way you carry it out, not as much.

They asked if it was bad…
Its not bad but i wouldn’t say realistic.

Ok, I am tired of seeing your feedback all of it is negative you don’t bring people up, And if you don’t like it don’t comment because you have brought me down and others think before u type dude.

It’s called being honest and having a different opinion. @IceTheOneAndOnly doesn’t have to like it if he doesn’t like it, if his feedback is something you disapprove of you have the option to ignore his feedback.

Also @Fran3esca I suggest using Waterfall plugin to improve the waterfall, and work on the edges of the water so it doesn’t look like you just placed them there, and by edges I mean this for example…

But overall a nice build for your first terrain, keep going at it.

Uhhh dude the title of the post says be honest…
Hes just being honest

Some people will understand your feedback/criticism but some may not. I think your response is pretty vague and isn’t helpful for people who wants to improve. I suggest using this format for feedback/criticism:

Glow: Describe some things that you like or you think it’s pretty good.

Grow: Describe some things that have some room for improvement and how to improve.

Looks amazing for your first time, better than mine was anyway- here’s some suggestions I can give you to make it better

  1. set the water transparency to 0.8 or 0.75, it would add more to the realism
  2. mess around with the lighting and try a new skybox. lighting and skyboxes really help bring the terrain and realism together and make it look much nicer.
  3. add some flowers in the grass from a nature pack it would add more depth and realism to your terrain and take it to the next level.

I’ve also got some plugins and links to help you out with this:

  1. BrushTool - Brushtool 2.1 - Roblox this will help you place sever types objects around the map with random rotation and scale which saves me a lot of time than having to place each tree/flower by myself.
  2. Lighting Presets - Lighting Presets - Roblox This plugin has lots of skyboxes with their matching lighting and this will really take your terrain to the next level.
  3. Waterfall Generator - Waterfall Generator - Roblox I would suggest using this plugin with the realistic waterfall to make the waterfall in your game instead of the one you have now. I think it just looks cleaner but thats just my opinion.
  4. A tutorial on realistic building on roblox -How to make a REALISTIC game | Roblox Studio - YouTube I’ve used this link to help myself learn how to use lighting and terrain tools to achieve realism, or close to it, in roblox studio.

I hope you can check these out and give us an improved version of your terrain. Good job on this and I wish you good luck in your building!

You completely missed the OP’s question. How is the OP supposed to know what he’s doing wrong if everyone’s giving fake feedback just to be nice?

It’s really good! I’d recommend not using the water terrain type as a waterfall though as it lacks movement. Here’s a helpful plugin for that which creates more realistic waterfalls.
Speaking of water, you can configure its transparency, colour and other things in the Terrain instance in the Workspace.

Also, there’s not much greenery on the ground except for the grass, maybe some bushes/flowers/rocks would help?

Its called creation FEEDBACK for a reason.
Negative or possitive.
This just means his feedback is good, cause some people are dishonest and just say “omg looks so good! 7 minutes? this would’ve taken me an hour!!!”

For your “first terrain creation” this does look very good. I’d suggest using a waterfall generator for the waterfall in future though, the water terrain being used in waterfalls doesn’t look too good. Other than that it looks alright :ok_hand:

For someone’s first terrain creation, this looks very nice!
However, I think the rocks extend too far into land at the edges of the river.

It should only extend about this far.

You might also want to look into Atmosphere Controls.

Looks OK. It needs more stuff like bushes, and maybe change how the water looks.
