Hello! I’m in the planning stage for a project of mine and was thinking abut visual aesthetic. I decided on darker colors with a brighter outline around it. Here is an example of what I’m talking about
(except with darker colors)
Anyways sorry if this is obvious, I’m new to building, but how would you pull off the outline effect? Thanks!
Hey there! So the way that style is pulled off is that crystal is a MeshPart imported into roblox and MeshParts have the ability to have a texture added to them. The reason it has that style is because that color/outline is a texture on a mesh. You would need to make a texture for the mesh you want on a seperate 3d modeling software
Do you recommend any specific software for texturing?
I don’t really texture models but I sometimes use either paint 3d (default windows app) or blender. But you can also pull off this style by putting thin parts on the corners of models!
Kind of like this!
each of the lines are a single part. I like doing it this way rather than drawing out a texture but you can do it any way you like!
I would recommend making your meshes/models in Blender (Blender Download Link) and using the ‘Texture Paint’ feature to draw white lines around the edges of the model.
