How should I go about updating my game?

I don’t mean just saving to Roblox I mean releasing updates, should I make a copy of the game, do all my work there, then overwrite the actual game? if I overwrite the actual game will I lose the datastores?

I’m also worried if I don’t make a copy of the game, I’ll accidentally hit publish.

My current project will also likely have a lot of connected places that the player has to teleport to, I assume I would just do the same thing I would do with just having one game but multiple times per place?

you still have place version history, you can just restore

doesn’t make a major difference. though this branching approach is more common with people who use more professional tooling like git with rojo
