Hello, my name is Cryotyx.
I’ve always had an interest in game developing - building. I have been fond of seeing many cool creations people have made but don’t know how I should start building. Any ideas on how I should start creating?

Hi there, @Cryotyx!
It’s incredible to hear that you’re interested in building on ROBLOX, I certainly agree that there are so many fantastic creations made and I’m sure that you can do the same one day. Here are a few tips I can give you before you begin:
My strongest recommendation to you is to never rush as it will not look great. I wish you the best of luck for your future.
How i started is a basic obby it took long time for a normal obby and alot free models
Day One: Basic Obby or anything else
1 month: i started doing still obbys but with checkpoints and better at building
5 months: i stopped making obbys and moved to tycoon and like 2 days after i stopped doint anything with roblox studio and played games
but then
Now its like 1 year or more: im working on 2 games 1 is simulator and 2 is Showcase game with roblox future is bright 2.5 and learned to script.
Let your passion and feeling takes you man
Sounds corny but what I mean is basically try to have a build that really interest you and try to complete it. You will automatically learn the hows while you are trying to turns blocks into shapes within your builds.
This dev forum is a great source for building techniques and Google is the best source for something you are unfamiliar with (styling-wise)
Play around with the studio, get yourself familiar with the building shortcuts, learn all the amazing functions that you can apply to your build to make it alive.
Plugins that I found really helpful:
Celestial Body Dragger (simple sun/moon dragger)
Part to Terrain (great time saver for map making if you don’t know how to import maps from a heightmap)
Building Tools by F3X ( although I mostly use the built in building functions from studio, I sometimes uses this as well)
Stravant -Ropeater (for curves)
Stravant - Reflect (you only need to build half of a model to save time)
Stravant - Gapfill (self-explanatory, cheers to Stravant for saving our time)
Triangle Draw (build poly things)
There are other plugins but I found these most useful. After you can get a little bit more advanced, you can then try to learn Blender to create detailed models. Blender models are almost always better than models you build in Roblox Studio with Solid Modeling and whatnot. You can also texture with blender and import it into R-Studio. Good luck on your path of developing
