How to add the ability to hold tools to custom model?

You can write your topic however you want, but you need to answer these questions:

  1. What do you want to achieve?
i want to be able to hold the tools in the hand

  2. What is the issue?

  3. What solutions have you tried so far?
i don’t know if my brain is just being stupid but i don’t think the rigedit light has the ability to add where the tool can be held? i’ve tried to add it in from the roblox R6 model but that didn’t work

Do these tools work with normal Robloxian rigs, or is it just these rigs in specific that have this issue?

if i slap the R6 model (from the character rig menu) name it StarterCharacter and put it into Starter Player (for one it plays my custom animations because it’s set to that-)
but, it is able to hold tools/items

This might be considered an extremely hacky fix, so I’d only consider it to be a temporary solution until somebody gives you a better fix; Have you tried overlaying your custom rig over the R6 rig and making the R6 rig underneath invisible? Your rig should have the ability to hold items that way.

trying to combine both models into one “StarterCharacter” just breaks the entire thing

Have you tried actually welding the parts of your rig to the R6 one?

i’m just going to do this and rework the model because it is kinda ass, i think it just might be that i rushed it and didn’t really care to go over what i needed to do

it was literally as easy as renaming the “Right Arm” to “Right Shoulder” and it worked perfectly sobbing i feel so stupid. at least i’m learning though!! thanks for trying to help, now i have to redo ALL THE MODELS SOBBBB…
