for a while, I’ve been struggling with the ability to be more creative and to come up with builds for my game. My question was how do all of you come up with builds?

Usually I scroll the internet or take suggests from friends. Or sometimes I just sit down and think about what buildings I should put into my game.
There are a bunch of platforms to get ideas. I usually think of other games I have played or a specific genre that I like and look up reference pictures for the builds in that genre. Right now, I’m working on a sci-fi underground base showcase. You can even play games and look around them to get ideas flowing. Reference pictures help me a lot as I try to recreate them but then think of ways to make it different as well.

Another thing I do is just scroll through the #robloxdev tag on twitter and try and re create the amazing builds of people.

There are many topics on this already, but I now have an eye for interesting buildings or architechture. Anytime I see something from a movie, TV show, irl and REALLY like it; I’ll take a visual picture or rewatch it and build it from there. Sometimes I sketch out something or other times just start with some shapes and come out with something beautiful. You can find pictures online of buildings or whatever you wanna build. The internet is your oyster! Sometimes I will hop into blender and make something that resembles an actual object and take it from there. It depends on your game and what it is and whatnot, but this is the best answer I can give.

I usually come up with builds by looking at images or people’s build and go from there watching movies and going around your neighborhood or town to gather different ideas or trying to create something is a good thing to think about have a notebook and look around your house or area and write things down to come up with builds sketching - thinking of problems and coming up with different ideas could give you a better understanding on what you’re trying to achieve.
When I’m losing ideas or trying to come up with things to build i always get images online - reference of what I’m trying to create or either use other peoples work as inspiration in a kind of way.
Depending on what your trying to accomplish then I use images as a guide then I try to recreate it and everything will come together as planned however it might not be the same but it’ll probably look different or more better then the images your using.

Usually I take long walks, alone time etc to be able to come up with original ideas. Try mind mapping or brain storming.
