How to create a massive map with Smooth Terrain

I’ve seen where people say the limit is 16,000 or so by 16,000 but then there are games like New Haven County that have maps that are much larger than this.

Also, I can’t seem to publish any game with smooth terrain over 9,000 x 9,000.

Please help

If you’re referring to lag with too much terrain in a single game, then the only thing I can think of allowing smooth game-play would be StreamingEnabled. This loads regions, including terrain, in chunks and sends it to the client only when it’s needed or when it’s visible near the player. Terrain level of detail for farther terrain with be rendered in a minimalistic manner. You can find more information on it here:

Hopefully this is what you’re looking for and/or referring to.

Jailbreak is mostly terrain and their game is fine (unless you have a potato pc) so if you’re referring to lag, you should be able to cope. As @/Beartikal mentioned, for smoother gameplay I suggest adapting to StreamingEnabled. I don’t think theres a limit to the amount of terrain that is used and there’s tutorials on YouTube on how StreamingEnabled works. Hope this helped :+1:

It doesn’t lag, as I stated above, it just won’t publish to ROBLOX at all. And I’ve tried publishing other games, it works, just when I use a lot of smooth terrain.

Considering you need an internet connection to publish, maybe your internet could be slow and the request might time out / take a while, I’m not sure but if it’s not publishing i would assume that’s the problem.

I have a Dell G5 15 fully loaded and I have 100GB wifi.

What does google’s internet speed test show? There’s alot of factors that go into how fast your internet is, You could be far away from your router, a wall might be between you and the router etc.
