My game has been getting relatively low reviews since I started advertising it and I’m not sure why. I even added a feedback button in attempt to reduce negative reviews.
Something is rubbing off wrong on your audience, hence the bad reviews. I would look over all of your feedback, and consider every option. What is giving the audience a bad impression?
There is something I notice right off the bat, before even going into the game. Just from the name and description, it makes it seem like a copy of This Game, This Game, This Game, This Game, and generally All of these games (even if gameplay is completely different and original). So, if you are pulling from those linked games’ audience, the audience may feel as though it is a “rip-off” even though it isn’t.
How to fix that? I would make it more original in the title/way you market the game. Experiment with the game’s name, and see what works and what doesn’t.
Those are just my thoughts/impressions, hope that helps!
Maybe there’s some sort of bug in your game that is irking people off?
Where’s the game? All you do is wait for crops to grow and then spend money for additional plots to then wait for those to grow. This was my first impression and I wasn’t impressed. There isn’t anything for the player to do except wait. I can see why people would leave bad reviews because they probably would leave quite quickly after figuring out that waiting is all there is.
Tycoons are good because of their variety.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot of variety with this game. People WILL wait to build a barn (or really cool farm stuff), but they won’t get as excited to get a tiny bit more crop space. You have to add variety as SOON as they start playing, like fences, sheds, barns, animals, tractors, etc… Or they just feel like they are waiting for nothing.
I will consider adding tractors or other upgrades, keep in mind that as you progress you unlock a higher multiplier. This game is geared towards younger audiences so I kept it very simple.
Thank you for the honest feedback, I’m going to work on making it more original.
It’s not bashing when it’s honest feedback. If you had something going with it then I would write a detailed review like I have done many times, I would suggest you check those out. I may not have any public games but I don’t need a successful game to give you criticism. There is no gameplay. This is why you are getting bad reviews.
You didn’t give me anything useful to work with so there was no point in replying to my thread. I was only pointing out the fact that in your bio you are self proclaimed as “successful” but clearly have not succeeded in any of your game development endeavors.
My bio doesn’t claim I’m successful, I just say I create quality games, they may not be successful especially since they are all private. The main reason I didn’t give helpful feedback is that you didn’t give me enough to work with. I think you need to go back to the drawing board and figure out gameplay that doesn’t just involve waiting around. I don’t see much replay value in that. The game needs to be fleshed out so there’s a point in doing what you are doing, just advancing doesn’t mean anything if there’s nothing new or something to strive for.
Everyone stop arguing, next time make sure it’s constructive criticism and not just criticizing the game.

So first, would suggest making a tutorial. Was a tiny bit confused at first, but caught onto it quickly. Second, the game gets repetitive quickly. Add different crops(unlock ables), pets, decor, or something to spice it up. Third, the game concept has been done before and even though I understand you said your working on originality, it’s a bit of a concept that’s been well touched. Over all, there are other farm games better, but I hope you can make your game better!
I saw your post before you removed it. I’m done here, if you are going to edit that text to make it fit your narrative then good luck. I’m not a fan of people who lie. Learn to take criticism, you will need it in life.
@Ggblocks20 I admit it wasn’t constructive but he asked why he wasn’t getting good reviews and I stated my opinion on why he wasn’t. It wasn’t written with sugar but I think it was needed to be said. As that said, I’m not a fan of his attitude and him lying to make it fit his view and then accusing me that I changed my bio (in the now deleted post).
Another way to get feedback is to add a decal comment section.
- Make a decal of the game’s icon and call it “Expand Your Farm Tycoon Comments”
- Enable comments on the decal
- Link the decal at the top of the game description like this
LEAVE COMMENTS HERE:
[Link to the decal]
That’s a good idea but I feel like my in-game feedback button is enough because it’s easier to use (my opinion).
