How to make a Circular UI Grid

Hi :waving_hand:. I wanna make a doppler radar system for my game but there is one issue, idk how to make circular grid (see the image below). If someone knows some techniques please leave a comment. Thanks…

this image is from the protomanly’s weather mod (Minecraft)

The best would be script generated but i’m very bad at Gui since I don’t use them very often.

Hi, @MrCrayfisho.

If you want so, here all you need UICorner (by adding it) and pull it’s offset to 100 (or whatever higher numbers make it circular)
lsdk
(100 offset)

You’d benefit from using EditableImages when trying to make this!

It’s up to you how you want it to look, but I recommend not trying to make the grid using polar coordinates, since that would require a high resolution and therefore more memory and CPU time to render. Use a small grid, such as 64x64, to display the information. Then, add a UICorner to the ImageLabel!

I’ll try that. If it doesn’t work, then, thanks anyway.

I’m gonna try use viewport frames

You could use the EditableImage as a texture for a circular grid MeshPart. That way you can set a pixel in a cartesian coordinate and it gets transformed into a polar coordinate.

This of course means that you’d need to have access to EditableImages through the ID verification.

EditableImage can be used in any Content property which takes an image, such as ImageLabel.ImageContent or MeshPart.TextureContent. This is done by setting the content property to Content.fromObject(editableImage).

Example with normal grid texture applied to the mesh:

Here’s a Blender file with a circular grid generating Geometry Node group:
CircularGrid_GeometryNodes1.blend (915.2 KB)

Thank you!! I’ll try that too…
