How to make a gamemode system in a game using single script architecture?

I have a game that’s basing off a single script architecture, y’know, where you use only modules and only one script that runs the whole thing.

How would go about making a gamemode system with it? Like, what type of modules should I make and how should I organize everything?

maybe a module that is the main game loop and it requires a config table.
seperate modules for all gamemodes thatre just config files
