How to make animation editor autosave so I can move on to another animation and match them properly

So currently I have 2 rigs that I’m trying to make 2=1 animation for (or in simpler form an animation that involves 2 players). After finishing an idle animation that I didn’t export/save for my first rig, I began to work on the second rig, however, when I decided to head back to the first one I’m hit by:

Create an animation to start

I expected the rig to autosave itself so when I go back I can make necessary adjustments to it. Is there a way around this, missing option that I forgot to tick, better plugin etc.?
