How to make team squad system for war games

What I mean:

  1. What is my game about?
    I am creating a realistic World War 2 fps game

  2. What I mean by team squad system?
    In my game when a player joins the game he will be in the menu where he will pick what team he wants to fight for then he can create or join a squad for 6 players max like in a Steam game called Hell Let Loose

I just wanna know how to make the system for creating and joining squads + 6 players in one squad.

Whoever helps me thank you.
