How to make the Character you hitted not to be able to fight back for a short period

I cant figure out how to make a system that if you hit a Character then the Character wont be able to move and hit you back just playing a hit animation for a short period of time.
How could i start by making this?
Any suggestions whould be greatly apreciated!!!

I would add an event that is triggered when a player is hit, or something that detects when a player is hit. Then I would create a cool down that disables whatever code (by using something like wait(any amount of time)) that allows the player to attack the other. Sorry if this is confusing, I hope it helps!
