How to Map an Image Seamlessly Onto a MeshPart?

I’m trying to map an image onto a MeshPart or Part in Roblox using ViewportFrame Masking. I’m open to different methods :).

Target effect:
I want something similar to the “Life Is Strange” hover outline/glow effect (screenshot attached). The image should wrap around the edges of the mesh realistically, instead of looking like a flat decal.

Why I haven’t succeeded:
You can’t just apply a Decal or Texture to a Part/MeshPart and expect it to wrap cleanly around all edges. While researching, I learned about using Alpha MeshParts for mapping, which can work for creating masks. However, I haven’t found any solid examples of mapping full images over meshes this way, and it doesn’t help that there’s very little documentation or community experimentation on it.

Goal:
Implement a method to properly project or map an image onto a mesh in Roblox so it fits the shape naturally, potentially using ViewportFrames, alpha masking, or another method

Both Peter McNeill and MaximumADHD just released demos for projecting Decals on BaseParts and Meshes using the new EditableMeshes. Not sure if this exactly what you’re looking for, but definitely worth checking out!

I’ll check into this! Thank you so much
