How to recreate old roblox stud accurate?

Hi, I’m trying to recreate the classic Roblox stud texture.

I’m doing this because the current Roblox studs don’t react to lighting the same way the old Roblox studs did. The old studs seem to have a more 3D/PBR-like appearance.

I already tried using the classic stud texture and its original normal map, but I can’t get the lighting to affect the studs the same way as the old Roblox engine. I’m also getting blurry texture artifacts.

I also want to know how to properly remove the background from the texture without damaging the details. I tried using the Color Killer plugin in Paint.NET, but it ended up removing some details from the texture and damaging parts of it.

The original texture file does not have transparency and has a gray background, but in the old Roblox engine it still worked with different Part colors without showing the gray background.

Does anyone know how to work with materials to make something close to the old Roblox stud look?
