I’m wanting to allow players to take a capture or video, and to then display said capture/video in the game through a billboard. Not with the temp id, as that can’t be passed over. I’m talking about capturing something, that can then be shared to the whole server, and potentially saved with data so can load back anytime

considering capturescreenshot say it temporarily makes a contentId to identify it, I don’t know if saving it would actually work. (other than using their provided function to save it)
However, for displaying it, wouldnt you just grab the contentId and put that into an imagelabel?
(infact the example does exactly that)
local CaptureService = game:GetService("CaptureService")
-- Reference to an ImageLabel parent of the script containing this code
local imageLabel = script.Parent
local function onCaptureReady(contentId)
imageLabel.Image = contentId
end
CaptureService:CaptureScreenshot(onCaptureReady)
Do you mean other clients cant see it?
Then if so, you might have to save it the player’s gallery first (I think).
PromptSaveCapturesToGallery
()
This method prompts the user to save the captures identified by the provided contentIds to their Captures gallery within the experience’s main menu.
I’ve gone through all that
local CaptureService = game:GetService("CaptureService")
local imageLabel = script.Parent.Parent.ImageLabel
local function onCaptureReady(contentId)
local saveIds = {}
imageLabel.Image = contentId
table.insert(saveIds, contentId)
CaptureService:PromptSaveCapturesToGallery(saveIds, function(callback)
print(callback)
end)
end
script.Parent.Activated:Connect(function()
CaptureService:CaptureScreenshot(onCaptureReady)
end)
saving to gallery still returns a temp id, which isn’t gonna be persistent
Have you managed to find a solution? I really need that
