I found this out some time ago and wanted to share with those who want that extra bit of anonymity.
As you may know, there is a small counter which is shown besides links that represents the amount of clicks it has had. Whenever you click any link, the counter goes up, and while that is a nice little shorthand to link analytics (wow), some might not feel too comfortable with seeing the counter going up when they click it.
As such, you can avoid that by doing the following (which should work on most major browsers):
It doesn’t work on Edge because Edge is bad
- Locate the link you want to open anonymously;
- Hover your mouse over it;
- Press, and keep pressed the main mouse button (usually, left);
- Drag the link to the tab bar or to the address bar;
- Release;
- Feast on your link that you’ve opened anonymously without leaving any traces.
