How would a game like this use trains?

I have made a post like this in the past, yet I am still puzzled on how to make a controllable train, that has some sort of “powerful” feel. What I am achieving is pretty much this. I want the trains to be mostly physics based, not tweening or such.

As you see in the attached video, the trains have a feel of “warming up”, not just instantly hitting top speed.

I don’t really care about the model at this point.

What could I do to make this?
