how would i calculate 1000 x 425 % and still get the answer 4250

425% of what? If you want 425% of 1000, you divide 425 by 100 to turn a percentage into a multiplier (425/100 = 4.25), and then multiply 1000 by that. So, 1000 x 4.25 = 4250.

Next time before posting use the proper format and be more descriptive.

If you want a 450% increase, you have to to calculate 1000 * (100% + 425%)
