I want to simply make a sort of advanced plane waypoint system. The player doesn’t control the plane, the plane just follows a set of waypoints. However, I want it to be smooth and advanced. With stuff like controlling pitch, yaw, roll, etc. I’m not asking for exact code, just a general idea. For example, maybe a player spawns an airstrike. The plane spawns 1500 studs away, comes in, drops its bombs, then continues its run, but turns around. I’ve tried searching for how people do it, but I can’t seem to get it with an actual model.
For smooth aircraft model movement with rotation, implement TweenService using RunService. Create an elapsed variable and increment it by delta every HeartBeat. Calculate alpha by dividing elapsed by time. This enables linear interpolation of the aircraft’s position from start to end. To implement smooth rotations, lerp the model’s current Rotation toward the segment’s rotation CFrame (CFrame.lookAlong(Vector3.zero, endPos - startPos))
You can actually use my system, it does exactly this implementation but has a different name:
