Having the same issue as OP.

I tried logging out and logging back in through Studio just now, it’s still showing me this error whenever I try to open up this specific place of mine in Studio.

It happening on me.
I tried restoring to older version from Version History, it still not working, even I downloaded the older and newer versions. However, I found that the downloaded file size is 4B, and it should be higher than 4B.

Same issue. How big is your game? Does it have a large map, or a lot of parts? For me, the problem seems to be specifically with a large open world map game, while smaller projects opened normally, but I don’t know why that could suddenly become a problem, it always opened just fine until today.

Yep lovely, same error! Like the guy above said its only happening on my big game but gave a different error (cant connect to team create) until I disabled team create through the starting place. Lovely that ROBLOX can publish unnecessary studio UI changes but then can break the actual functionality of studio!

Hopefully they fix this soon because I don’t feel like having to go back on months of work because ROBLOX cant work!

It’s a Wednesday, so ROBLOX has updated. Clearly a recent update done to Studio has bugged team create access on large games.

Personally, I can get onto smaller games with Team Create on. But, games over a certain size, I cannot. The smaller games with Team Create enabled also take a few tries to open.

And no - I’m not opening from files. But here’s a size comparison of a small, and larger game.

I can open this game after a few tries.

It is completely impossible to open this game.

The problems suggest that it is due to an update done that has something to do with Team Create and game sizes. There is probably no workaround for this until ROBLOX fixes it or reverts.

Same issue. It was one of my bigger maps. The “update” button didn’t show right away, but want a minute or two for the “update” button (in the top-right). After updating, close and reopen the app.

Issue: Time it takes for Roblox to sync you with your larger experiences / maps.

Steps:

  1. Wait a minute or two for the “Update” button to appear in the top-right of the app.
  2. Update.
  3. Close and Reopen the app.

Should work after that. I didn’t have to relog in. Seems like a latency issue with Roblox’s servers, when syncing large maps from Roblox’s servers to our PCs.

This is infuriating. When will Roblox fix?

Not only did they break studio with their crappy update. this also broke any older version from opeing ANY place. now you have no way to avoid the ui and you also cannot save anything if you used any older version. i lost two hours of work thanks roblox i gues..

Just to confirm, folks seeing the HttpError: ServerProtocolError are experiencing this only on non-Team Create places right?

And also just to confirm, restarting studio, logging in/out does not resolve the issue?
