I am absolutely furious with this

My SurfaceGui is not receiving click data from Activated, MouseButton1Click or MouseButton1Down at all. The three of them are not firing at all.
The SurfaceGui’s adornee is:
game.Workspace[“Losense FireSentinel Gemini”][“LS-FSL-GM-FIP1”].OLED
The GUI itself is at:
game.StarterGui.FIPSurfaceGui
The LocalScript is at:
game.StarterGui.FIPSurfaceGui.MainFrame.HomeScreen.Footer.MenuButton.LocalScript.

Why can’t stupid Roblox make the server honor UI inputs of server-side SurfaceGui elements (Like TextButtons and ImageButtons) instead of forcing some janky approach which requires a RemoteEvent. This stupid security mechanic actually makes me more mad.

I’ve tried the following:

  1. Adding all 3 events (Activated, MouseButton1Down and MouseButton1Click) to the same script
  2. Moving the SurfaceGui to the StarterGui
  3. Tested LocalScripts instead of Scripts with the RunContext as ‘Client’
  4. Using Ancestors.

All to no avail.

However…
This random CBA system takes the inputs even though both items are on the server side. Why is the CBA system working but my Losense system is not?

Probably something covering it or an index issue. Start stripping it down until you find it.
Will that window work without the others.. Is every property set correctly..

Yes, it is active. Active = true.

You got a like for that nice comment! :+1:

Make sure ResetOnSpawn is turned off for the GUI. What’s probably happening is the player is spawning, the GUI is being regenerated, and its connections are being lost. Also putting it under StarterGui can help a lot (even though you mentioned you tried it, it can be a mix of two issues being active at once).

EDIT: also make sure there aren’t any invisible UI elements blocking your buttons.
