What is this second barrel thing for and what does it do?

Hello i’m not sure if this is correct for LMG’s, but sometimes on guns there are second barrels containing flash lights, grenade launchers, etc.

the m60 is and older lmg so i doubt this, but it is possible

That lower cylinder contains the long spring for the bolt and recoil system.

EDIT: Note that if you ever see a lower cylinder for single-barreled (usually pump-action) shotguns, that’s actually where all the shells are stored.

That looks like an energy weapon, which probably wouldn’t really need a bolt, recoil system, or the lower cylinder containing the two.

Yep XD, i can now rest easy knowing that i did not include it (there is a little piece above the barrel, but that is small and for aesthetic purposes)
