I switched to New Roblox Studio with the new interface today, and damn… How inconvenient it is. Thank goodness you added ability to customize Studio interface, but there is still a HUGE problem.
First
Why i cannot edit interface templates you have already created (Like HOME/MODEL etc.)? Why do I need a bunch of useless functions in the Home tab? They are just there, and it is simply IMPOSSIBLE to remove or reassign them!
Second
When I try to create a custom tab (Pic. 1), almost all functions I need are missing (Pic. 2), but they are in the Home tab, which cannot be customized. The same applies to the other pre-made templates.
Studio engine developers, please sort this out, otherwise I will simply quit developing with your engine, as you have removed all convenience and are forcing roblox devs to work in areas where it is practically impossible.
So, you think that not adding customization features is not a bug, but a FEATURE of new interface? And is the problem of not being able to customize pre-made templates also a special new feature?
I have been developing for almost 8 years at Roblox, and these bugs and shortcomings are critical to my work.
its not a feature, but its DEFINITELY not a bug. this is a feature request, you want the ability to do something. The fact you cant do something that slightly makes it difficult to you doesn’t make it a bug.
I did not say I wanted a new feature, and I do not consider what I described in my issue a “New Feature.” I believe it is a bug that engine dev ignored while providing the ability to customize interface
I would love for all of these things you have stated to be implemented.. Also like @EzraPalo said this is not a bug, but it’s a feature request.. Maybe you could change the topic to be under the category of Feature Requests.
I cannot understand why you consider this a “New Feature Requests” If I had the choice between staying with the previous (old) interface and switching to a new one without the ability to customize it, the choice would be obvious.
But they made it so that this choice was not there, and presented a very crude version of the interface, attention, stating that it could be fully customized.
If I would asked for a “New Feature Requests” I would have just slept through it, but studio already has a searcher with added actions, which is completely missing the most necessary and useful features, so this cannot in any way be considered a “New Feature Requests” for finding desired function.
I am baffled that you don’t want to change this, i doubt on Bug Reports > Engine Bugs anything will change, but on Feature Requests it likely will. You are asking for something that currently isn’t implemented, so you are asking for something NEW that isn’t currently in roblox, if it was a bug, they would have INTENTIONALLY implemented this but it wouldn’t work. Why are you so hell bent on this? I understand your second point slightly, but the first one is not by any means a bug, you are asking them to implement something that they likely didn’t plan to.
