ok soo im here uploading a new ugc emote. It passed validation.
I have under 10 seconds, I used curve animation, made sure i didnt move lowertorso by alot, all bodyparts have start and end keyframe. I even ran thru emote test dummy and it passed.
but i did export the animation from moon editor and then switched to the roblox animation editor.
I uploaded multiple animations with the animationtype checked
and then i get this vague ugc emote marker is missing error. I did everything right on my part, maybe i must be missing something or roblox is tripping? Also fyi i do have premium and id verified
I’m having the same problem as you. I did everything right, and this is what I get.
i think it’s a bug from a Roblox Studio update; something similar happened before.
This appears to be a bug/regression with the current UGC emote upload pipeline. I’ve tried:
A brand new standard R15 Mannequin rig
CurveAnimation
Animation under 10 seconds
Animation Type set to Emote when publishing
Publishing the animation as a completely new asset/new ID
Creating a new Animation object from the newly published animation
Repeating the process with multiple animations
Studio validation succeeds, but when submitting the emote I consistently get:
“Content does not pass validation rules: The published animation is missing a valid UGC emote marker. Please republish the animation.”
Republishing does not fix it.
This started happening after the recent animation/emote publishing changes. Since multiple creators are now reporting the exact same issue, it looks like something may be broken server-side with the new UGC emote marker validation.
Would appreciate it if Roblox staff could investigate this.
