I’ve been pretty bored latley and haven’t made a game in ages, so I decided to make one. Creating the game idea took quite a bit, and I thought I found a perfect game idea, it is based on this one: Failville - Roblox, but it has already been remixed. You can find it here: Flunkville - Roblox.
BUT, it has been seemingly discontinued, 3 years ago. Should I keep on looking, re-make the game anyways, or edit the game idea to be different. Any ideas / thoughts?

i don’t think it matters if there is another game similar to your game idea as long as you don’t straight up copy them, try to add your own concepts into it

Its not wrong to be inspired, as long as you dont blatantly make the same game(same name, same features, same gameplay, etc.). In fact, if the game is discontinued, its actually good to make another sort of version.
In short: do it, youll be fine
you can be copyrighted or plagiarized for stealing a game’s idea or straight up copying a game, hence why i said that.
