I made a small farming game where i tried to make the core loop more gamified than for example grow a garden. Not that I don’t understand the concept of making a simple loop, but I thought that maybe some people would enjoy having more to do than just planting the seed.
For now you just need to clear the field, till the soil plant the seed and water (after filling the watering can at the well). You also need to repair the tools at the blacksmith and you are able to upgrade them there.
The game have a 15 minute day/night-cycle with three distinct times (morning, midday and night) and the shipping-bin is emptied every day at the shift from day to night.
I mostly need any idea of what the first thing to add would be to most people and if anything feels like it is missing in the current loop.
You do get different seeds in the shop each day but in the long run I’m planning to have unlockable seeds. Adventuring is something that I have considered, but I have no good idea of how to make the adventuring feel “safe” to keep the game cozy. Do you have any ideas?
And most importantly, thank you for your input. It means a lot to get insight into what people thinks is needed!
Maybe just the paths are too long because I had no ideas where to go but in the end I found where to go maybe just keep it with like 4 plots in a server surrounding the spawn area.
Ok so maybe add like three different biomes including: forest jungle and desert. And you could maybe add like scorpions (in the desert biome) that steal 1 off your seeds!
I fixed the top UI, made you spawn at your farm, put up signs so you know where to go to to get to town and made a few badges and time based rewards (so you get something for just being online, since I want it cozy). Adventuring is probably coming up, just thinking through how to implement it.
It got a whole other feel now, so thank you again for your ideas!
