I am working on a game where you drive cars down a hill and avoid obstacles that destroy your car, and in the intro I have a car speeding across the screen with a subtle tire screeching noise. I wanted to know if y’all thought this fit this kind of game since players would probably be speeding down a hill and I wanted a cool little Easter egg hint of what was coming in the game, but I’m not sure if it symbolizes more of car driving and racing.
Here’s the effect:
Also for this game I’m trying to keep the UI and intros and stuff simple so the player can just get right into the game and understand what to do without excessive effects and animations so would this be too much and would a simple logo and play button be enough?
If it was driving downhill at an angle, it would definitely convey the gameplay. Maybe add a little chaos and have the car spinning slowly as it flies across the screen like its lost control.
Thanks for the idea I might implement this but maybe in a different scenario such as loading to the next level can show a car driving and spinning out but I think that for the loading screen since I’m trying to keep it simple and easy to use it might be best to just put a little loading circle and have a menu with a play button and my groups logo in the corner or something like that
Yea if I find a way to make it work in a simpler intro I’ll do that but otherwise I’ll just remove it bc I’m aiming for simplicity and want a shorter and more basic intro
So what I did was I changed the loading text and car to just a simple loading circle:
and I kept my logo appearing after that but made it all quicker and simpler and I think when it goes to the title screen after the logo I’m going to put a speeding car driving downhill crashing into the downhill driving text as it appears so I think that’ll work good
I will reply to this with the full thing once I get it done
