Hey buddy!
To tell you the truth, learning from somebody definitely can help you improve, however, it will decrease your motivation to keep going and realizing to never give up.

Life is about trying things until you pass away. During your lifetime, you have so many things to do starting from 0 years of age.

Think about this, when you were 0, you learned to walk, run, jump all by yourself. It’s something nobody can “feed” you to do. Although, building can be improved by somebody teaching you, it’s best for you to do it. Look, imagine somebody taught you how to build realistically. What most people would be doing is going on devforums, getting commissions, and think they are pro, which is good for them. However, on the other side, there are people who work their butt off, learn by them selff, and keep practicing many different styles without any help. Not that they only get good at building, scripting (whatever it is) they learn not to give up, when the ones who were “taught” are good at one topic, but don’t know how hard it is. They miss out on learning it them self, ending up in giving up on other topics. This is when the "growth-mindset" and the “fixed-mindset” come into role.

Fixed VS Growth

(THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO EVERYBODY, JUST MY LOGICAL THINKING!)

As shown in my example, the fixed mindsets are the ones who can slack and catch up easily because they are being “taught” by somebody and relying on them to get better.

Next, the growth are the ones struggling and finally reaching success.

So, to conclude, it’s really up to you, but in my perspective, if you really want to be a good builder in most topics, such as medieval, low poly, high poly, it’s best to keep practicing.

I know this was long, but hope you really took this in. Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
6QL4
