Hello. I have started to launch some test ads for my game. I spent around 2k on ads and sponsors so far this past week. I noticed that user retention has dropped off from an average of 5 minutes to 2 minutes. However, if I’m there, people tend to stay for more than 20 minutes. I don’t know why my game is failing to have concurrent players.
This is most likely caused by your game content. People only stick in games if they have something to do or something they want to do. Have you put things like quests and interactive missions etc into your game to give a player a good experience of the game? If a player is not entertained by the game they will not stick around in it. My best suggestion would be to revise the content of your game and add features designed to retain a players attention and therefore get them to remain in the game for longer periods of time
Your game honestly looks unfinished. Consider making the lighting more detailed, as well as using Roundify on some of the buttons. Also, add more details to the buildings.
Sorry if this sounds a bit harsh, but I’m going to give you my honest opinions on your game.
I get what you’re going for, but there’s really not much to do in this game, especially with the low player counts currently. I feel as if the enjoyment this game provides heavily depends on there being lots of players and providing a feeling of a living world.
Graphics-Wise, the game looks nice, don’t get me wrong, but it just doesn’t stack up to other cyberpunk style games in terms of detail and consistency. The GUIs look basic and don’t match the style of the game, and the Health/Hunger bar is too far up.
I think this game has great potential, and if you add more to do, expand the map so it can properly suit 60 players, and Improve the graphical fidelity of the game, I think that those changes alone will make this game far far better.
I’d be glad to help you improve the game if you shoot me a private message.
Your game seems to be unfinished or in beta. The lighting is really weird and the focus of the game seems to be unclear as I had no idea what to do. I thought it was going to be like a laser tag shooting game but apparently not, it’s more like a roleplay group which reminds me of papers please. Roleplay groups don’t draw in a lot of players (30-300) ish. 2k on ads AND sponsors is not a lot at all. People tend to stay longer whilst you’re there because you’re the owner and theres a small amount of “clout” or chance they’ll receive something like an item or something.
Some of the reasons that have been addressed above are good, but instead of launching your game at the start you need to play it yourself and improve on a few things I can see a few issues that people aren’t staying in your game longer or playing your game first it’s way unfinished this is something you should expect in (Beta).
I feel like the area is empty, maybe have moving animations that you’ll have to walk to to start a quest or things you need to buy from the food owners that’s possibly a reason why people don’t play long at the start it was a little confusing to understand the concept you’re going for but then I figured a few things out but for the most part you need to add something that would be more interesting, and unique, to the users that decide to play your game.
For starters, I’d like to address overall layout. I think the instead of buying things randomly from a UI maybe have shops or little stands on the side that you will have to walk in order to purchase things or stuff that will be used whenever needed the music really pumps me up for doing quests or missions however it’s rather hard to do. Because the map is very bland and stiff and it doesn’t feature those things that may be a reason that people are closing your game fairly quickly instead of staying in it longer than a few minutes.
Improving it and adding different options would bring players to stay longer and enjoy the overall concept.
