Hello developers,
I was wondering if anyone here has ever encountered issues implementing a system where the player sends their name, and it checks if they are subscribed to your channel. If they are, they receive a reward.
I honestly don’t know if this would go against the guidelines, as I’ve seen other games doing similar things, like Pet Simulator with X (e.g., Twitter). If anyone could help me, I’d be very grateful . I believe this is probably possible to achieve using the HTTP service.
i don’t think this would break the rules in any way.
using the api for the service to check shouldn’t really be against the rules
and if the logic of “do something for {x} thing!” is against the rules then “join the group for {x}” would also be against the rules (which it isnt)
This reply is wrong. It’s against TOS to do this.
Roblox prohibits using in-game rewards as a direct result of actions outside the platform.
After digging through the TOS, I can say that I agree to DonaldDuck5150’s response. In my opinion, if the rewards are obtained indirectly, such as through Twitter codes which could be shared by anyone without players being required to follow them on Twitter, are fine. However, directly giving them rewards such as by purchasing off-platform merchandise for the codes, following twitter/subscribing on YouTube requiring the players’ username, etc. is not allowed.
Don’t follow the shady practices of shady games made by shady people.
Could you kindly show me the section of the Terms of Service? I’m not saying you’re lying, but it seems a bit unusual. Even Pet Simulator 99 has a similar system, just with the X. I’ve read through the Terms of Service, but I couldn’t find anything like that.
