I think we should be able to control the terrain LOD

It can be really difficult to create relatively small but very detailed terrain maps without having the details blend into each other. I’ve been trying to create a realistic showcase, using about 5 terrain materials and creating small features like rocks in grasslands, or thin valleys on cliffs, but if you go let’s say 500 studs away from that detail, it just looks like an ugly, blank hill. I think it would be much better if we could set different values for the LOD, it can be extremely useful in most cases, but turning it into an unchangeable norm just messes up some kinds of games.


This is the map i am talking about, i don’t want to add too much fog in order to mask the effect of the LOD, i am trying to create a highly detailed map, but it just seems impossible without using parts.

I agree that we should have more control over the terrain LOD. However, this should probably go in #platform-feedback:engine-features.
