ID verification incorrectly set to 2 years old.

I attempted to ID verify about half an hour ago and my age was set to 2 years old. I believe because I am under 21 and my ID is vertical it was read wrong, , however I am somewhat freaking out because I need to be verified as 13+ to use editable meshes which are crucial for a game I am working on. I am obviously not 2 years old, my account was made in 2017, there is no scenario in which a 2 year old would even have a drivers license. Is there anything I can do?

Expected behavior

I expect to be correctly ID verified as 17.

That’s wild that it defaults to 2 years old :sob:

this is wild, instead of roblox seting the age to 2 by default it should make the ai retry or put it on a manual-verification waiting list

I believe because the date my ID was issued was 2023 it somehow interpreted that as my birthdate. still completely stupid, it should never give out a two year age in the first place as it doesn’t make sense I gave them a drivers license

I am effectively unable to use team create until this is resolved which kills any opportunity at serious development on the platform. I am responding to hopefully demonstrate how critical this issue has been for me, I have a couple commissions I was working on that served as a decent source of revenue for me that I am no longer able to work on.

Roblox support has effectively told me I’m not actually ID verified and that I can simply redo the verification.

I very clearly do not have an option to redo the ID verification.

Hi! I had the issue arise in a similar fashion.

I solved it myself without support, just needed a small workaround

You have to set up parental controls. After enabling, set the account owner’s age to the point where you can verify with ID (anything above 16 should work?). After verifying with ID, it updates your age to whatever’s on your ID. If you’re 18+, it automatically disables parental controls. Otherwise, disable it manually. Make sure you set up parental controls with identifiers and accounts you have access to, to prevent locking yourself out.

I have already tried the parental controls workaround and it unfortunately didn’t work. When I checked the ToS I found this:

It seems they added something specifically to prevent parents from changing your age if you are ID verified. Thanks for trying to help though :slightly_smiling_face:

Aw, well good luck! Hopefully this gets resolved soon

im so sorry to the OP that you’re the victim of the sloppy age verification me personally i hate age verification its ruining the entire internet and this is 100% the reason the big government and big corpos invented this to control our speech and so they can easiely get rid of us just like that if they hate one specific person they can just set their age to 2 years old

just a theory tho they could just also ban you as well without censoring you like that

I personally don’t think it was targeted at all, I think the system just is very unfinished. the problem comes with the fact that the support/bug fixing team are not helpful at all.

still haven’t had this fixed, if anyone out there has devrel contact/know someone who does please message me (my discord is me7474) as at this point I believe that is the only way this will be fixed.

They also ignored the posts i bumped about ID verification failing for my Polish ID and i wasn’t the only one there was other people from other countries having similiar issue to mine.

Going by that logic they are either ignoring bug reports related to ID verification or they can’t fix these issues.
