When submitting an appeal through the Illegal Content Report appeal form (the form where users enter their Case ID and appeal reason), the submission fails with the message “Email Verification Required.”
However, there is no option or prompt anywhere to verify the email address. As a result, users are unable to submit appeals for Illegal Content Reports.
Since the appeal process is an important user right under the Digital Services Act (DSA), this issue effectively prevents affected users from exercising that right. Please make the appeal form functional again.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Open the Illegal Content Report appeal form.
- Enter a valid Case ID.
- Fill in the required appeal reason and any other mandatory fields.
- Submit the form.
- Observe that the form returns “Email Verification Required.”
- Notice that there is no available method or prompt to complete email verification, preventing the appeal from being submitted.
For as long as I can remember, submitting an ICR appeal has never required email verification.
I am submitting the appeal from the same Roblox account that originally submitted the initial ICR. My account’s email address is also already verified. Even then, this should not matter…
Expected Behavior:
Users should be able to submit their appeal successfully. If email verification is required, Roblox should provide a working way to verify the email directly from the appeal flow. Otherwise, the unnecessary verification requirement should be removed so users can exercise their DSA appeal rights without being blocked.
