At the moment I am developing a game, I need a lobby design, but since I am not a very creative person, there are no design ideas at all. Are there any design patterns that I can rely on?
Depends on the game, but for any game i would go with a town-like lobby with a fountain in the middle, and decorated with game passes and dancing NPCs and all that.
Many games use that already, it’s generic… But yes, it depends on the game.
It depends on the game that you’re working on, the theme of it, the context, etc…, how about explaining about the game first off, like what is it all about, then sure, we can help to give some direction for the lobby builds…
Well, my game will be in some way a parody of " Classic: crossroads" (developed by Roblox itself). If in the design of the map I have some ideas (the most minimal), then as for the lobby, I don’t know at all what to choose
Oh, the old Roblox game, well if you’re thinking of it being as fun and cartoony, then make it low poly and cartoony, add colourful and attractive colours, for the trees for instance, you can make the branches of the tree light chocolately brown instead of a realistic brown, and the same for the leaves…
Make it small, you just gotta make it small as around 150 to 250** studs of the lobby, you can fill it in with shops, gears, for players to buy them with bobux, you can add interactive things around the lobby, have a “choose a map” vote system for players to vote to select their favourite genre of different styles of the map, im not saying that it need to look exactly as if quote on quote “different maps”, its more like you put your own spin to it. If its a space theme, add planets, meteors and rocket ships. If its a western theme, add western buildings and western related places/items…
Hope this gives a direction…
