Style depends on audience type you’re aiming for. Shape design is quite up to you, but the more complex it is the either confusing or amazing it looks.
Gameplay experience is depending on game design. You’d most likely to expect a lobby or reception first.
From my personally opinion keep it simple design your cafe in a way you want it to be, it comes down to your overall structure cafes normally strive for a cartoony approach with vibrant colors. I don’t really think there’s any difference aside from what shape should my cafe be;
The first recommendation said above will be something you should think off what will your audience look for when playing a cafe game, gather small examples of known cafes and see what players are normally looking for out of it. The style can be answered on your own liking cafe nowadays have a more certain view you may want to strive for something that hasn’t been created, or used before in sorting cafes. It could be a simple idea to have mixtures or sorting styles placed within your layout.
At the start this completely your choice. There’s many styles to choose from gather reference images to find a layout on how you want your building structure to look like.
Ok so for your questions it’s really a case to case basis but will try to answer to the best of my ability.
— For a younger target audience (6-10) —
Most likely A low poly/ cartoony style (though younger children in my experience don’t much care)
I would do rounded angles and keep the build simple.
Most of the time when a player is playing a hotel they are there for one of several reasons.
*To roleplay and work in the hotel and feel accomplished and work their way up the corporate latter.
*To show off something on their avatar(hotels and cafes seem to be a hot spot for robloxians flexing)
*To troll
So if that is your target audience these are things I would focus on. (Though I doubt you would aim for this young an audience)
— For a target audience of 10-15 —
I would go with a sleek modern build and probably some terrain.
either mostly square or a combination of different angles.
These players will most likely be at your hotel to work. They probably want to be a HR and have power over others.
— For a target audience of 16+ —
They probably would appreciate a modern sleek build with rustic undertones.
the same as I said before a mix of angles would do good.
these players are probably at your hotel to socialize, and if they are here on the workers end (if you sell a pass allowing ranks to be bought)
They have a high rank.
But of course I could be wrong and building is not the most important part of a game/hotel/hangout/cafe the most important part is that its enjoyable.
