I’m working on an upcoming pirate game as a solo developer. Yes I’m the modeler, scripter, VFX artist and builder too! I’ve been using Roblox Studio since between 2013 (11 years ago) I’ve never fully made a game on my own before so I thought why not challenge myself to create one of the most complex game systems as a solo developer
I tried to recoding the ocean more than once until I could adjust it appropriately and realistically. After more than one attempt and years, I was able to adjust it by using Editableimage & Editablemesh
Im a huge fan of pirates and ships and I’ve always wanted a huge open world pirate game. I have so many suggestions but I know you’re a solo developer so I don’t wanna unload all my ideas on you. Looking forward to this very much. I will play any type of pirate game no matter the quality. Please link the final game when you’re finished or even when you open for testing.
It took me 3 years of work on the only ocean… good thing that i finished with ocean and since I wasn’t focusing on the ocean so much, that’s why the subject took me a long time. Also, I am a fast-working developer who finishes things quickly, so there’s no harm in expressing your thoughts, and I will definitely send a link to the game when I’m done!
just i have to tell you my game will be like a sea of the thieves
I love SOT and I’ve been waiting for a Roblox clone of it for ages. I understand the water does take a long time to make. How realistic will your water be? There is a game called turbulent seas where the water can sink your ship if your ship has too much cargo.Your ship can also spring leaks if shot by a canon . Maybe a kraken boss would be cool too.
oh wow, Ive always loved ocean inspired games, and pirates, and everything, I even tried to create my own complex ocean system, but could never figure out collisions so I just put it on hold, I will definitely be following the developing of this project, good to see someone trying to make a good game.
I am very impressed. This takes a lot of discipline to produce such detailed environments by yourself. This passes for a standalone indie game, well done.
Perhaps there could be some more depth and texture to the hull interior. I imagine it’d be more worn than it currently looks.
I really didn’t like the texture at all.. and I’m trying to redo it, but the boat has so many details that it might take a long time. So I got busy working on some of the game’s models, like the sharks, fish, nature, and sea
As for the ocean, I finished it completely and was able to achieve the highest quality I’ve been able to achieve in years of trying.
