Impossible to edit post in discobot tutorial

I was trying discobot on an alt because why not, but I am unable to edit my post so I cannot continue.

I have tested this on the discourse meta but I was unable to reproduce it there. So it is an issue only on this forum.

Yeah, while I was helping one of my friends to complete the advanced tutorial, this issue came across me, making it impossible to complete the advanced tutorial. I thought nothing of it, but now that I see it’s happening to others other than me and him it’s a pretty serious issue.

Edit: Well, this is ironic, editing this post. Now I can edit on PC but not mobile.

I agree that this is an issue, however, you can still delete the message, and deleting a message is an edit so that method can be used as an alternative way to edit a message.

A while back they had the edit icon I believe, but if this is the case nowadays they should make it more specific in the tutorial.

Well, here’s the steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the advanced tutorial
  2. Get to the part where it asks you to edit a message
  3. You will notice that you are unable to edit the message
    Works 100% of the time :ok_hand:

If you want to get past this step then either delete the message or press skip. I don’t know why deleting works, but it did when I did the tutorial.

Deleting isn’t always the best option, and most new members might really need to learn this. I don’t remember if the advanced tutorial lets you edit in other posts. Deleting does work though.

I guess according to @AmusingDev deleting just edits the post, but imo that is very hacky as deleting and editing have different purposes so ima wait for a sage+ update on this
