Improve Community Organization and Profile Customization

Improve Community Organization and Profile Customization

As a Roblox developer, it is currently too hard to organize communities when managing or participating in many of them. Once you join dozens of communities, the sidebar becomes difficult to navigate, and there are very few tools for organizing, prioritizing, and navigating communities.

If Roblox is able to address this issue, it would improve my development experience because I could access the communities I use most much faster, spend less time navigating large lists, and better customize my profile.

Use Cases

Some examples of where the current experience becomes limiting:

  • Developers who manage multiple communities have no dedicated section for communities they own.
  • Players who are members of many communities must scroll through long lists to find the one they need.
  • There is no quick way to pin frequently used communities for easier access.
  • Communities cannot be sorted or organized beyond the default order.
  • Make Primary only allows a single highlighted community, limiting profile customization.

Concept

To illustrate one possible solution, I created a UI concept focused on improving community organization and navigation.

The concept includes:

  • Owned Communities, Pinned Communities, and Joined Communities sections.
  • Collapsible categories to reduce sidebar clutter.
  • Sorting options (Alphabetical, Recently Joined, Most Members, and Fewest Members).
  • Quick Pin / Unpin Community actions.
  • Show on Profile as a replacement for Make Primary, allowing users to choose which communities appear on their profile.
  • A Manage Profile Communities page where users can add or remove displayed communities and reorder them using drag-and-drop.

Mockups

The first image highlights the proposed changes, while the second shows the same page without annotations.

These mockups demonstrate one possible implementation. The goal is to improve community organization, navigation, and profile customization while keeping the overall Communities experience familiar.
