We have added the ability to more precisely control the audio of VideoFrame instances via three new properties:
VideoFrame.RollOffMaxDistance
VideoFrame.RollOffMinDistance
VideoFrame.RollOffMode
These function identically to the same properties on Sound instances. If there are any additional properties on Sound you’d like to see on VideoFrame - let us know!
In addition, we will be reducing the maximum value of VideoFrame.Volume on April 22 from 100 to 10.
Originally, this very high value was intended to help work around the limitations of not having dedicated audio rolloff properties for VideoFrames. However, values above 10 can be incredibly loud, so to respect the ears of yourself and your userbase, we will be reducing the maximum to have parity with Sound.
Any code that currently sets this value >10 will not error and will continue to function; however, it will be set only to 10.
From our metrics, we’ve determined the number of creators impacted by this change is miniscule and will reach out to those impacted, but we wanted to give a heads up.
If anyone has any thoughts, questions, or concerns - please let us know!
