I Do wonder why it still warns you for text chat if you say a bad word since it already replaces the word so there shouldn’t be an issue?

This is an example. Roblox has been removing swearing on this thread so it actually got deleted when I posted it - I have removed the swearing element so it should now be fine for me to post again.
But yeah, this is a bit rough.
“I’m a [swear] trans person” > “I am a low level.”
“I’m fricking gay” > “I’m broken”
These are user-submitted instances found on twitter, but with the sheer volume of reports of stuff like this happening, it seems legitimate.

You’d think they test this stuff before it gets released to the public and iron out all of this.

Makes me sad how few replies this thread has vs the 2D clothing thread. Both are terrible but this is FAR worse. People are throwing around the word “dystopian” but this is ACTUALLY dystopian, a corporation using AI to forcibly rewrite your own words to be more “family friendly” with no way to opt out of it. It’s actually disgusting, and who knows how they’ll abuse this technology in the future and what other words/phrases they’ll arbitrarily decide are “inappropriate” or “hate speech”?

when i tested it for the gay one it just made it say “I’m Gay” and removed fricking. seemed like they changed it

@rajadventures This is a great update. One thing I did notice just randomly when typing someones username was it rephrased the word but added punctuation at the end. This seems like it would be a simple fix for y’all, but I’ve attached the word so it can be fixed.
The thing that sucks about this system is that you know there’s a system behind it autobanning people when your chat gets flagged multiple times.
This is probably what’s behind the recent ban wave that’s been happening on the platform.
Yes, if this AI finds “repeated offenses” it will autoban you.
Worst update. Censoring Lmao and Lmfao is actually pathetic. We were able to say these back in 2019. Just because Lmao has the word “ass” doesn’t mean its bad. I get the Lmfao part, but Lmao? Are we for real?
Rephrasing is an interesting concept, but it fails beause the rephrasing is just funny. I can’t take it seriously when “Lmao” gets rephased to “haha”, it sounds ironic.
Roblox has changed it’s filters for VC as well. For example:
You can’t say ugly
You can’t say shut up
You can say sick and twisted but there’s also a chance that Roblox will detect it as “rule breaking”
Saying ANYTHING negative to a player can be taken as an insult, I played an among us bootleg and I said “You’re such a liar” and Roblox gave me a warning. Like what.
Also let us curse if we are 18+ and the other person is 18+ as well
