In-Game Character Wardrobe

I remember seeing this in the past as a tech demo. It allowed users (if the feature did happen) to change the appearance of their avatar ingame. I’ll try to find a video for this but it was either a tech demo or something for Hack Week in the past.

EDIT: Knew it. Found this from 2012. Remembered reading about it and it interested me A LOT. Either it was abandoned or something.

Little-known fact: we just launched an in-game avatar editor on iOS in the last few weeks and we’re rolling it out for all Android users soon. Next year we will port it to PC as well. @Stickmasterluke did most of the work.

So this idea was never dropped or abandoned correct? as before the ROBLOX Player Client had limitations conpared to now. So it will be a festure next year ingame? It’ll work well for roleplay games.

As my game overrides the player’s character, will this be available for toggle to the developers?

And in addition to this, as my game is round based I’d like to disable it while the player is actively playing in the round.

Pardon my terminology, it’s an in-app editor. You can’t launch it while you’re in the game, you launch it from the app. It won’t interfere with games.

That demo has been brought up several times in the past and to my memory the reason it never saw light of day is because the person who originally worked on it stopped working for ROBLOX shortly after.

The person who made that demo still works at ROBLOX and he’s one of the people who helped with the in-app avatar editor.
