In-Game Roblox Events, Winner gets Robux - Is it allowed?

On the hazem communications server I’ve seen people host 10,000 Robux in-game Roblox events like sword fights or simon says, I want to try doing the same thing, however, the current Roblox TOS doesn’t specify if it’s allowed or not very well.

The question is… Is it allowed to host In-Game Roblox events for a Robux prize?
Example: 50 Players get the classic Roblox swords, and the last one standing gets a 1,000 Robux prize.

If I can get an official response on this it would be super helpful to me and the event hosting community!

FYI - The events are free to enter and the person who hosted the event gives the prize via a gamepass donation

As an active event player and developer, it would be good to know this as well.

In my opinion, this should be fully allowed, as roblox gets the same cut from a gamepass purchase. Also the robux received from these events is non-Devexable eitherway.

Also taking into consideration that some of them are paid through Pls Donate, they shouldn’t be a problem overall, as it is just an extra step for a donation.

The community for events is very big, consisting of over 10 000 people. These events get around 300 people just from one server, and countless servers related to events exist.

I do see an issue with it. Yeah, Roblox still takes their cut from gamepasses, but that doesn’t mean this setup is fine, especially when it’s being used to bait kids into free Robux events with zero real control in place.

People use Pls Donate as a reward system, but let’s be real, it’s just an extra step that makes things feel more legit than they actually are. At the end of the day, it still attracts younger players and that’s where the problem starts.

Moderation in these servers is insanely slow. It can take hours, sometimes even days, to deal with a dangerous user. By then, the damage is already done. And the worst part? The mods can’t really do anything about it because they don’t even own the game the events are using. So players get exposed instantly and there’s nothing they can do in time to prevent it.

Some events are even made to directly harm people. I’ve seen stuff like “say ‘I hate @RandomMember123’ for 50 Robux” actually get rewarded. That kind of behavior gets encouraged because there’s no proper system in place to stop it. It’s just straight-up bullying for profit, and it shouldn’t be ignored.

Bright is a good owner, I’ll give them that. But the staff seriously need work. There’s no communication, barely any training, and the whole thing just feels like a mess. Not safe, not well-run, just not it :x:

Fair enough, but that’s the server’s own problem. I don’t see how this information is necessary in this post, considering the community is large, even outside of Starry events. Large communities always tend to have bad actors no matter what.

The “issue” can be said about basically any Roblox-related server. Also i haven’t seen any “danger” whatsoever in any event myself. Sure, people can be toxic and scam, but same things can happen when you trade limiteds or do something based on trust.

And the amount of scam events is very small, i’d guess around 5% or less. Considering this, 95% of the people get rewarded as promised. Like for example, just compare these events to invite reward -servers that continuously scam thousands of kids. Which is worse?

Roblox explicitly prohibits offering Robux as prizes in any form of contests, sweepstakes, or giveaways within experiences. This includes:

  • Lottery-style games
  • Using phrases like “Play for R$”
  • Offering “free Robux”

Such activities are considered violations of Roblox’s policies and can lead to penalties, including account suspension or termination

this game allows you to host events yourself with a prize at the end, if you dont then you get a penalty, this game has multiple events to host, promising a R$ reward at the end by the host, yet this game isnt down? im sure its fine

Roblox doesn’t allow anything promising free robux, even if you actually give the robux.

Multiple robux-based contests have been hosted since 2019. No accounts from those have been terminated / penalized.

This is way different compared to those “free robux obby!” games. And as Altro said, scamming will result in consequences whether it’s a ban from a Discord server or a game.

Nobody is promising free robux either. It’s not a guarantee at all. Just like Pls Donate, you have no guarantee of getting any robux if you don’t win.

Hazem has hosted a 10m robux Shrimp game, the owner of Fight in a school has hosted multiple 100k+ robux events and so on. Have they been terminated / penalized? No.

If you read through the Roblox Community Standards under Illegal and Regulated Goods and Activities it clearly says ‘On-platform contests, games of chance, or competitions where Robux or anything else of value is offered as a prize’. A Robux giveaway would be classed as a game of chance/competition, which would violate the terms of service. Do so at your own risk.

KreekCraft streamed himself doing this inside of his own game

Roblox doesn’t moderate offsite, if nothing inside of the game was clearly stating that it was a free robux giveaway then Roblox won’t act on it.

However if your making a game purely to advertise robux giveaways Roblox will sooner or later moderate you.
